OUR MISSION
Silverbackz Athletics Association seeks to teach every student-athlete the discipline required to build Christian character, develop a sense of community, and to foster excellence in education, teamwork, and leadership through athletics and events. Brokenness exists in every area of life, including sport. We believe there is a remedy to the brokenness of the world in the gospel of Jesus. Athletes are hurting both personally and as part of sport-culture.
OUR FOCUS
We believe in winning on and off the court. SAA in snot just about gaining skills and abilities for worldly achievements but developing God-like character to become productive adults. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 says, "Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us as eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

The mission of the Mississippi Rankin County Elite Silverbackz Travel Basketball Team is to develop disciplined, skilled, and high-character student-athletes through elite basketball training, competitive exposure, and strong mentorship. We are committed to preparing our players to succeed on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
Our program focuses on:
- Player Development – Teaching sound fundamentals, advanced skill development, basketball IQ, and position-specific training.
- Character & Leadership – Building accountability, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and respect through the game of basketball.
- Exposure & Opportunity – Providing competitive travel tournaments, recruiting exposure, live-stream coverage, and access to college and prep opportunities.
- Family & Community – Representing Rankin County and the state of Mississippi with pride, unity, and professionalism.
- Work Ethic & Culture – Embracing the Silverbackz mindset of Desire it. Devote it. Display it.

The stated goal: not just developing basketball skills, but also “growth, competition, and recruitment opportunities,” giving players exposure to college coaches and scouts. We emphasize “character, leadership, and discipline indicating an interest in personal development beyond just athletic performance.

The program is described with a mission that blends athletic development, skill growth, exposure to college coaches, basketball IQ, and character/faith-based values. Playing against other elite girls’ teams from around the country in a recognized shoe-circuit. This is arguably one of the top grassroots pipelines for travel basketball now.

The JR Silverbackz travel basketball teams, exists to build Christian character, community, and leadership through athletics. The program focuses on developing athletes both on and off the court—teaching discipline, teamwork, leadership, and life skills rooted in gospel values, with the goal of helping players.
